USDA adopts seven feeder cattle grades in new official standard
The Department of Agriculture announced official USDA feeder cattle grades to take effect Sept 25. Prime, Choice, Good, Standard, Commercial, Utility, and Inferior align with slaughter cattle terms. Standards reflect market quality, aid federal state reporting, and guide official sales.
