County Youth Travel to Penn State 4-H Demonstration Days
Garden Spot youth travel by bus to Pennsylvania State University for the annual 4-H Judging and Demonstration Days from August 13 to 13 with exhibits contests and judging across 4-H programs. Students must arrive at Lampeter Strasburg High School by 8 am Monday, pay 11 for the club week, and bring dresses or blouses and skirts for girls and suitable clothes for boys. Delegates return home Wednesday afternoon.

Harold R McAllister of Manheim Central High School received a plaque for top leadership rating from the Association of the U S Army at the Officer Candidate School graduation at Indiantown Gap. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and ranked second in a class of 33.
