County breeders shine at 11th annual SE Pennsylvania breeding show
Lancaster County breeders faced a tough showing at the 11th annual Southeastern Pennsylvania Artificial Breeding Cooperative show with Polly Anna repeating as senior and grand champion. Guernsey entries led by Cheshire guard won purple rosettes as Raymond Witmer and Polly Anna dominated breed contests. Marilyn Harnish clinched county 4-H grand championship with an aged cow, while Jersey rivals from Downington and Brown Swiss entries from York County filled top spots.

Cloister FFA Wins Judging At Ayrshire Day
A three member Cloister Chapter FFA team from Ephrata High School scored high in the cattle judging contest at the Pennsylvania Ayrshire Field Day earning one of the $25 awards. Keifer judged on Ellais Mentzer farm. Montgomerry County 4-H tied for first in three-year-old cows and won all around judging. York County 4-H took second in all around and shared the three-year-old award. Northumberland County earned third. Prizes funded by Count Avi snille breeders association Horn Wayne feeds and New Holland Machine Company.
