Solanco Parliamentarians upset to win Area FFA title
The Solanco FFA eight member Parliamentarians defeated four other chapters Thursday at Penn Manor High School to claim the Area II FFA title and earn a spot in the Region II contest. Members included Preston LeFever, William Frey, David DeLong, Earl Wenge, Gary Craig, James Huber, Edward Krelder, and Richard Smith with Judging by Charles Lebo.

Grange Votes Donation To F H and Constitution Change Favored
Lancaster County Pomona Grange 71 met at Fulton Grange Hall Oaklyn with Master Charlies G Me Sparran presiding They voted a donation to the Lancaster County Farm and Home Center to be built this year They endorsed restoring federal funds for farm research at state universities and federally subsidized schools and backed a state law letting county commissioners appropriate needed funds.

County FFA sweep lands first in Land Judging contest
Lancaster County Future Farmers of America members dominated the Land Judging event held at the Isaac Geib farm in Manheim R3 County. Ronald Kine of Warwick and Robert Fisher of Grassland led with 346 points, tied for high. Robert Eby of Warwick finished third with 345 points, followed by Clayton Harrington of Solanco in fourth and Fred Kreider of Solanco in fifth.
