Workman's Compensation Bill Takes Effect May First
Governor Shapp signed a bill requiring agricultural employers with payrolls of 150 or more to provide Workman's Compensation coverage starting May 1. Domestic household workers are exempt. Coverage pays for medical costs, lost income, death and disability, and shields employers from related lawsuits. Insurance can come from private carriers or the State fund.
