Ahmed Returns to Lead Depew Girls Volleyball
Depew High School welcomes Lindsay Ahmed back as head coach for 2023 with six returnees among 13 players. Senior captains Abby Bortz Mya Bush and Jenna Lis anchor a veteran core while six sophomores step in. Lis, a longtime varsity standout, leads as a key hitter and de facto assistant on practice. Bush provides quiet leadership from libero and Bortz earned will lead by consistent effort. The team aims for a Class B-2 title and Far West Regional berth after a season-opening 3-0 win over Alden and a mixed tournament in Williamsville South. Ahmed notes the squad’s improved confidence and readiness to elevate for crossovers and regionals.
