Hochul allocates $8 million for overdose harm reduction

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced new funding and two requests for applications to expand harm reduction interventions for vulnerable groups and study opioid fatalities. The state Health Department directs investments from the Opioid Settlement Fund as New York receives over $2 billion from settlements with manufacturers, with funds split between municipalities and statewide prevention, treatment, recovery, and education efforts.
