Local election set with three ballot propositions in Lancaster area
Early voting runs Oct 26 to Nov 3 ahead of the Nov 5 national and local elections. Voters in Town of Lancaster and villages of Lancaster and Depew face two constitutional and charter amendments plus a county sales tax renewal proposal. The town park bond up to 7.5 million dollars is on the town ballot. The state amendment would expand protected classes and change pronouns, with abortion and transgender rights debate a central issue. County measure would require only a simple majority by the Legislature to renew temporary sales tax portions. Also on the ballot are term limits for local officials and a slate of national and state races including Gillibrand, Langworthy, Kennedy, and Gallivan.
