Library friends groups drive support for Western New York
Darden, former Tonawanda library director, notes 2018 book sale raised over 10000 with volunteers helping annually. In 2021 the Friends Council united Buffalo and Erie County staff and Western New York groups to share ideas, coordinate monthly meetings, and network. Merriweather and Concord libraries seek to form new Friends groups and welcome volunteers from any community.
