Village adopts form based zoning for downtown Lancaster NY
The village broadens zoning to cover Walden Avenue and West Main Street with CPL planning. Residents like Gavin O'Brien support the changes, saying form based zoning aids walkability and flexibility for developers and existing businesses while preserving historic areas. The plan outlines building orientation setbacks and site relationships to balance pedestrian scale with growth. Mayor Lynne Ruda cites this as the next community phase and directs readers to the village site for the draft standards and map.
