Cold case 42 years later still seeking clues in Adamski disappearance

Detectives pursue answers in the 1982 disappearance of James Adamski, a Depew High senior last seen walking from a Halloween party near Transit Road. His body was found in a Lancaster shallow grave two months later by rabbit hunters. Police say neighbors recall him as a nice kid and the last sighting involved a female friend who knew nothing of the events.

Artifacts found at Lancaster Village Center dig site

On Phase 2 work along West Main Street in Lancaster, workers uncovered historic artifacts including a rare sign and several empty glass bottles. Tom Sweeney of Glassco Management LLC called the find amazing, noting it recalls the pre Urban Renewal era from 1966 to 1970 and survived demolition and early 1970s construction.
