Obituaries mark altars for Lamesa figures in brief death notices
Services were held for Bonnie Stephens 78 of Lamesa at Branon Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. C H Murphy officiating. She died at 9 a m Thursday in Lubbock’s Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness. Survivors include three daughters a sister a brother eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also noted were services for Glenn Toombs former Borden County Judge and Lamesan in Snyder with interment in Lamesa Memorial Park. Toombs died Oct 30 in Fluvanna after about two and a half years illness. Ruby Jenkins 84 of Lamesa had services at St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev Pat Hoffman officiating. She moved to Lamesa in 1978 from Muncie Ind and was a long time Catholic member. Survivors include a nephew and two brothers. Jesse De Los Santos 52 of Lamesa died after an apparent heart attack and services are planned at St Margaret Mary’s with burial in Lamesa Memorial Park. He is survived by his mother a son a sister and four brothers.

Lions Chilli Supper Friday Near Final Tornado Game
Noon Lions Club sponsors a 5 to 7 30 p m chili supper at the High School Student Center with iced tea coffee and dessert. Tickets cost 2 each from any club member Charles Reese oversees the event and take outs are available with the same chili amount.
