Texas Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association data show Dawson County produced 1,083,051 barrels in 1974, down from 1973’s 661,998 and 1972’s 11,568,506. County ranks 30th among counties with over 10 million barrels that year. statewide output fell from 1973 to 1974 amid a national crude decline.

Airhart, with a 91.7 GPA, active in 4-H and student council, will study interior design at South Plains College. Stakeout Ends With Arrest In Auto Theft Case
A stakeout on a stolen 1968 Buick tied to an Odessa car theft ended with the arrest of Louis Lozano, 20, an airman at Reese AFB. Deputy Bill Horton arrested him on U S 87 after the stakeout began Monday and the vehicle was found behind farm buildings four miles north of town. Bond was set at 5000 and Lozano was returned to Odessa custody for processing.

Frank Jones Jr, Jerry Harris, Doyle McAda, Elwood Freeman, Dale Newberry, and Neal Echols serve two years while Ron Layton, Rick Smith, Bud Hale, Rick Palmer, Ken McCraw and Bob Capps serve three years.
