Lawmen Crack Case Arrests In Local Burglary Ring
Local and area law enforcement recovered hundreds of dollars in stolen merchandise and arrested three men, Johnny Barrera 19 Sammy Castillo 18 and Ronald Eugene Dobbins 19. Barrera and Castillo faced burglary charges with $3000 bonds each. Dobbins held on a city warrant with a $3000 bond. Police, led by Fred Vera and Gerry Brown, executed search warrants Tuesday as part of a wider burglary probe. A selection of stolen goods including an eight track stereo four channel decoder stereo amplifier a digital clock radio AM FM receiver and a portable color television were recovered.

Klondike District Praised By Accreditation Team
The Klondike School District earned a recommendation for full accreditation from kindergarten through twelve after a April 10 visit by a three member Texas Education Agency team. The report cited corrected deficiencies from 1973, remodeled facilities, complete credentials review, updated policies, improved library holdings, and active drills and self evaluation. The team members were Nancy Ruff, Larry Perry, and Gene Wilkins.
