The 1977 78 audit and a Middle School retention policy are top agenda items for the Lamesa Independent School District Board meeting at 6 30 p m in the High School Library. Art Bizzell will present the audit and the board will discuss appointing Bizzell and Stephens as auditors.
Bennie Lybrand to head the Dawson County Junior Livestock Show fund-raising again with a goal of 210,000 dollars, matching last year. The event runs January 18 to 21 at the Dawson County Livestock Barn, with planning and outreach assignments assigned at a Wednesday committee meeting.
The Lamesa Police Department approved a safety program for kindergar ten through sixth grade involving about 1,700 children. Funded by area businesses, it uses donated funds in exchange for advertising on booklets. Booklets cost about 55 cents per pupil and cover bicycle safety personal welfare safety and drug abuse with donor lists on the back.
Harold L Russwurm of Lubbock elected to Sentry Savings Association board after board meeting. Russwurm, a Oklahoma State University graduate with real estate and finance studies, has spent 17 years with Connecticut General Life Insurance in Agricultural Investment. He and his wife Sue have two children Rick and Pam. The bank marks its 20th anniversary with offices in Slaton Post Tahoka Lamesa and reviews current board members Jerry Powell Clark Self R C Hall Ray Belt and Jack Goulding.
