Cancer drive reaches all time high collection
The Dawson County unit of the American Cancer Society raised a record 13003 this year, earning the Golden Merit award from the Texas Division. The memorials committee led by Joyce Plunkett contributed 3924 and special events saw kindergarten and pre-school art show at First National Bank raise 150. Business area chairs Gary and Shelly Barron gathered 4295, residential chairs Barbara Murphy and Terry Wilkes 4633, totaling 8929 for the drive.
