4 H Horse Shows Begin Saturday
The La Marque 4 H clubs will run the first of three point horse shows on Saturday at Arcadia starting at 9 a.m. Winners from all three events advance to district competition. Bob Harris will judge. Vicie Goebel is ring steward. Jimmy Krell and Eddie Bump are gatemen. Harry W Monych Jr is announcer. A protests rules committee includes Jack Hale Clyde Smith and Luther Bridge. Mrs James Tadlock directs books and urges 40 entrants to file by Thursday with Joe Doby.

La Marque Cougars finished fifth at the Purnell Relays led by Jason Justice with 10 1/2 points. Justice set a school record in the shot put and contributed in discus and relay legs.
