The La Marque Times reports that end of term in-service days are for teachers to meet and plan rather than just grading. District librarians, secretaries, maintenance and food service held sessions, with topics on curriculum, vertical articulation, and library material selection.
Dr. Clark of First United Methodist Church will deliver a communion meditation titled The Compassionate Christ at the 10:45 morning worship. Sermon at 7:30 p.m. reaches That Is Your Affair. Junior High MYF invites youths after evening worship on April 1 from 8:30 to 9:30 for games. MYF meets Sundays at 6 p.m. in the youth building. members may stay for choir, worship, and recreation. Membership classes for youth begin March 31 with sessions for older youth at 12:30 and younger at 1:30 in the Junior Building. Palm Sunday April 15 at 10:45 will welcome new members.
A dense notice lists weekly gatherings across groups in La Marque and surroundings. Events include Naomi Circle No. 4, Mission No. 2, Bible Band, Community Bible Club, Eastern Star chapters, and Masonic lodges with dates, homes, and presidents or wardens.
Dr. William J. Perry Jr director of the College of the Mainland technical vocational program spoke March 20 to the Queen of the Peace Home and School Association. He said youths should consider blue collar and service jobs as future opportunities and noted dignity in hands on work while showing vocational programs at the college.
