Citizens of La Grande are asked to buy shares at about 10 dollars each to raise at least 1500 dollars for an athletic park. A circulating paper targets businessmen and residents to pledge funds, with schools backing the effort and solicitors to explain the plan.
Elgin Odd Fellows lodges hosted a multi‑lodge installation with 41 visitors from La Grande and other points.
