Altgius Thomas presents The Pit at the opera house Saturday night. The play is among Thomas' greatest. Arizona has been produced here recently. The cast is composed of capable players and rehearsals have run for a week, promising a delightful performance.
The Home Independent Telephone company reports strong demand for telephones in Wallowa county with about 50 new applications in a week. An Imnaha to Fruita extension will serve cattle and sheep men along the Imnaha river, stretching 140 miles from La Grande. Superintendent H. A. Thomas leads county operations. J. W. Walden, Chief of Police, urges auto owners to keep vehicles off streets during the stock parade to avoid dents and aid participants.
