Clinton E Goody, 40 insurance solicitor, sits jailed in Tacoma on extraordinary cruelty charges to his wife. Police say he tied her to a bedpost and broke into a home. the victim, named as Mrs Goody, is his wife since last August. Goody confessed to a long history of abuse and was bound over to the superior court.
San Francisco April 16 Francia J Heney said he would not go back to Oregon to fight C W Fulton if he is nominated at the primaries. He added that he believes Fulton has done his duty and he has no further interest in the contest.
The senate committee ordered a favorable report on the Postal Savings bank bill in Wington with a name change to Postal Savings Depositories. The measure reflects the views of Postmaster General von H Meyer.

In Chester Pennsylvania on April 16 rioters clashed with men brought in as strikebreakers to operate street cars. One strikebreaker was seriously wounded and 16 riot victims were hospitalized. Authorities consider state troops if police cannot restore order.
Tomorrow voters in Union county and La Grande will cast ballots in the second primary. Polls open at noon and close at 7 PM with ward specific polling places listed. The Fifth ward vote moves to Range Hall building. other locations include city hall, old kindergarten building, Harris Hall, and Strange Hall. A strong turnout is urged ahead of the June general election.
