Taylor Carrier Retires After 52 Years With Rural Route
C Roy Comstock, longtime rural mail carrier out of Taylor Wisconsin, ends a 52 year career in service that began Aug 8 1938. He first delivered 32 miles on winter routes using teams and a cutter and survived a past accident that left him sidelined for years. He recalls World War II mail arrivals at the Merill depot and plans to keep busy with hobbies and hunting after retirement. Raymond Olson succeeds him on Route 1 with Henry Matson temporarily substituting.
