Former President Grover Cleveland dies at Princeton residence after long illness. He had recently returned from Lakewood seeking recovery, and his funeral will be private Friday at his Princeton home beside Ruth Cleveland, the couple’s first child.

Sheriff B F Barclay of Dane county left for Pitkin with D Smith and Florence Smith who were arrested on the north side Monday evening by Yolton and McGraw on charges of abducting a seven year old girl from the home of her mother’s former husband. The child had been living with her father at Pitkin. Smith and the mother will be taken to Pitkin court on the abduction charge.
The Iowa democratic state convention in session at Sioux City will back Jeremiah Sullivan of Des Moines for vice president. Democrats aim to capitalize on Republican factional fights to carry Iowa for Bryan. The state delegation will be instructed for Bryan.
Louis Dunn, age two years six months, son of Mr and Mrs John Dunn of Lynxville, died yesterday afternoon at 4 o clock in the city. The body was shipped to Lynxville for burial last evening by Fessler and Dahl.
Henryth, a carpenter, slipped while boarding a street car at West Avenue and State streets en route to a baseball game. He fell to the ground but was helped to his feet with only minor bruises and continued to the game.

Tammany Hall and Charles Murphy plan a strong battle against William Jennings Bryan. They doubt Bryan can secure the nomination and aim to push a conservative platform. Murphy will not discuss the matter, saying only that the issue will be settled in Denver.
