City Youth Drowns In Black River After Boat Incident
A 15-year-old La Crosse youth, John Rhodes, drowned in the Black River near Hoffman Mobile Addition Trailer Court after a boating accident while fishing in Catgut Slough. Witnesses recalled the boat circling out of control and Rhodes disappearing as the motor pulsaed. Police recovered the body at 6 05 p m and the coroner found no visible injuries.
