Wounded Knee siege claims second AIM life in three days
Lawrence LaMont 31, an AIM ally and Oglala Sioux enrolled member, was killed in a prolonged gun battle with federal officers at Wounded Knee. The Interior Department confirmed LaMont fired on federal positions and noted a cease fire followed by continued exchanges. The death marks the second AIM fatality since occupation began February 27.
