Bomb Train Blast Rips Grand Oaks Homes in Roseville
In Roseville near Sacramento a munitions train exploded Saturday, injuring 52 and damaging about 400 homes with 10 destroyed. More than 7,000 bombs on 21 Defense Department cars sparked blasts and fires, while three cars on a separate siding were unharmed. The bombs were en route from Hawthorne Nevada to San Francisco Bay for shipment to Port Chicago.
