Mrs Effe Moore and grandson Master Gordon Moore returned Saturday from a visit with daughters Mrs Webb Metsker and Miss Gerta Moore near Hadley Ind. The Metsker farm sent a sack of apples. David Dotson and son Russell visited the county seat Saturday. Christian Ladies Aid plans a meeting with Mrs E S Booe next Wednesday. Fresh oysters advertised at Robinson and Reaths.
Charley Snapp, 38, was killed in Sugar Creek township when a six to eight ton rock fell while he mined out at 3:00 pm Tuesday. Roy Bowman worked nearby. coroner Collings ruled accidental death. deputy mine inspector called the scene. Snapp left a wife and a small son and his body was sent to Indianapolis for burial.
Friday evening at Mrs. A C Starns home a surprise farewell was held for Mrs Starns and daughters Lena and Gloria who move to Colorado. A bountiful supper followed with many neighbors present including Mr. and Mrs Jr W Butcher and family and others. Guests wished them success in their new home.
The Needleworkers Club hosted a Wonder Hallowe en Party at Mr and Mrs F R Jones home last Friday night in honor of their husbands. The decorated venue set a festive mood with games a bean contest an elegant three course supper and a program of songs and instrumental music by club members. Prof H B Redding extended thanks as attendees departed pleased with the evening.
Friday morning the library board met in Mr. Copeland's office to review architect sketches for the new library. Architects Roy Brookie Parker Sharpe Miller Schard and another from Roachdale presented plans. Bert ram of Carnegie in New York will inspect, with bids from contractors to follow if approved. Construction postponed this fall due to weather, with work to start in early spring. funds are being collected for the lot.
Arlie Stull twenty-year-old farm worker and Crawfordsville High School graduate was shot and killed by Walter Runyan at Runyan's home near Waynetown last Friday evening after a quarrel over rumors about Stull's parentage. Stull had worked for Runyan for years and studied at Notre Dame. he was a cousin of George Stull, killed in a saloon incident years ago.
Mrs Sciota Thomas and Thomas Toler wed in a home ceremony Saturday in Danville attended by guests. A supper followed and the couple returned Tuesday with the bride moving her household effects to the Illinois city. The bride formerly lived in Harveysburg. the groom works in the molding department of a Danville factory. Best wishes are given.
A private ceremony was held Wednesday at the officiating master Sarah T. Mclxey’s residence. Henry Watson, a merchant from Newport, and Hollis Richardson were joined in holy wedlock with witnesses Mr. and Mrs. John Hobson of Tangier. The bride, a music teacher, will reside in Newport after the ceremony.

The League Cabinet of the M. E. church met at the home of Rev and Miss Clifton Tuesday evening and made some appointments. Next week all appointments will be printed. Mr and Mrs Fay Cook were in Covington yesterday. Henry Glascock was in Covington Monday. Wm Askern visited Veedersburg Monday.
Miss Fay Baldwin daughter of Mrs Sarah Baldwin Harveysburg and Harvey Griffin Tangier were married in Covington at Rev Stacker’s residence last Friday. Both are well known with many friends who wish them happiness.
Mrs Robert Morelee and daughters Mildred and Georgia May, formerly of Leavenworth Kansas, visited brother B O Hudler and wife yesterday. Mrs Ira Bonebrake plans millinery sales at her home west of the depot after next Tuesday. Levi Woody traveled to Bloomingdale Monday to visit relatives and friends. Aurther Lightles spent Sunday with Milo Holycross. The funeral of Geo. Kiger was held here Sunday. Omer Shoal is slowly improving. The High School is patiently a waiting the arrival of the Manual training outfit. Miss Rose Gallagher visited home folks from Friday until Monday. Miss Yocum has charge of the Domestic Sience classes.
Geo W Kiger born January 7 1838 in Fulton township Fountain county Indiana died October 24 1913 at his daughter's home aged 75 years 9 months 18 days. He married Mary J King January 13 1859 and had seven children Eliza Stoup Amanda Carter John H Edward Ira, with Kenny J and Mitchell A preceding him in death. He leaves a wife five children six siblings and many relatives. He helped settle Fountain county and served in the Union army. he joined the Baptist church and lived a faithful Christian life. Funeral Sunday at 11 in the U B church with Rev Jackson Marshall, interment Cooper cemetery. The family thanks those who assisted during sickness and burial.
