Voters chose four candidates in a lively Tuesday election with a close finish. Ratcliff wins Clerk and Treasurer by a slim margin while Shoat takes the Marshall post amid Republican majorities.
Charles W. Snapp son of George and Mary Snapp born 1872 in Bristol Tennessee died October 28 1913. His father died July 29 1913 and his mother September 24 1889. He married Myrtle Lee March 5 1903 and had two sons one from a former marriage and a stepdaughter Mable. Funeral services were held at the residence on the 29th and body shipped to Indianapolis for burial. The U B church announces services next Sunday with Sunday school YP COE U at 6 30 and sermon at 7 30. Mrs Ellen Allen visited from Indianapolis after the death of her grandson. Supt H E Redding attended a state meeting in Indianapolis. Funeral of John Osborn held at Wallace last Friday. F M Hudson and Chas Wilkins noted in county.
Nora Turner wed Fern Hoover at 7 PM Wednesday in Turner in a ceremony conducted by Rev J McHargue. Only close relatives attended as the couple plans to reside with Hoover's parents this winter and move to a Newport area farm in spring.
Revival meetings start Tuesday evening November 11 in Freedom with Rev. R H Gott of Kokomo pastor of Freedom Christian Church assisted by B W Stodard Indianaplis singing evangelist. Stodard praised as singer musician and Christian man. Public invited to share in blessings and soul saving efforts.
A group from Chicago and Indianapolis toured the old artesian well at Silverwood near Cayuga last Sunday led by A W Woodruff the former bookkeeper at the Starbuck era brickyard. They claim 300 acres of the Safely estate including the mineral well were bought to develop a popular resort with bathing houses and a scenic park a three mile car line to Cayuga and rail connections discussed.
Walter Robinson moved into the Bales property H J McAlister moved into the east rooms of the Citizens bank building and Ira Bonebrake moved into their property near the C E I depot. Friends church services led by Mary A Cox at 11 am and 7 pm with public invited.
Epworth League Cabinet lists members chosen to form three program committees for upcoming Sundays in November. Della Hurley and O V Spencer lead the first committee for November 9 on aiding younger members. Other dates include November 16 on salvation and November 23 on gratitude with Winifred Ratcliff and Ada Hurley among the group.

Clem Ratcliff sustained a severe hand injury Wednesday afternoon at about 3 30 while shredding fodder at the home of Geo Shell in Harveysburg. His right hand was caught in the machine and the first two fingers were nearly severed. It was uncertain if any finger could be saved and amputation was possible. Ratcliff owned the shredder.
Art Bonebrake and his family began their journey to Chicago yesterday. They will spend a brief visit in Morocco before continuing to the windy city.

Stanley Malcom Carter three and a half year old son of Mr and Mrs W G Carter died last Saturday at the home of Mr and Mrs Dan Shanks southeast of here after a brief illness diagnosed as catarrhal fever. The family, formerly Elizabeth Rice, were visiting relatives when the defense attacked. Funeral held Monday by Sarah McKey and burial at Poplar Grove cemetery. Nearby visits noted include Rosa Ash of Danville Ill attending Zack Ratcliff funeral and Chas Kent and family visiting Mrs Kent’s parents John and Mrs Neal.
Mrs Bert Swaim and daughter visited Mrs C E Thomas Friday and Saturday. Mrs Mary Murry of Perrysville visited Chancey Abernathy Saturday. A Hallowe en supper drew good attendance. Therman Holland was a county seat visitor Saturday. Protracted meeting continues at Cooper s Chapel. Joe Barker visited Covington Saturday. Friday school dismissed for Health Conference in Covington. Students select seed corn for Farmers Institute exhibit. The second year Latin class studied Caesar. Teachers Institute planned for Saturday.
Cols. A. G. and C. P. Madden traveled to Louisville Kentucky on Wednesday to oversee a lot sale. Mrs. H. E. Reddings visited relatives in Covington yesterday. R. A. Booe and family were in Danville on Monday.
