Attica County Education Board Sets Commencement Plans
The County Board of Education elected Humphrey M. Crubb as county attendance officer and fixed the county common school commencement for May 27 at Ravine Park Pavilion in Attica. The Commercial Club of Attica offered to pay all expenses for a speaker and band. About 175 graduates are expected from roughly every school district, with 144 pupils passing March and April exams and around 100 to take May exams.

Monument Erected for Ratcliff Family Wife
Theodore Gaebler of Rockville erected a fine monument in the Fraternal cemetery on the Ratcliff family lot to honor his wife. The composed piece cost nearly two thousand dollars and features a twelve by five foot base with the Ratcliff name and a five foot statue of peace placing a lily on the graves.

Mahala Doan Harvey born January 20 1838 in Plainfield Hendricks County Ind died May 2 1915 at her daughter Florinda Dudley s home in Mecca Parke County Ind aged 77 years 3 months 12 days She married William Harvey March 26 1857 had ten children seven surviving with 21 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren She joined the 1872 revival at Heath schoolhouse and often prayed and testified in public She was widowed March 17 1908 Funeral services conducted at the Friends church Tuesday at 10 by Rev Orley Smith with Rev Levi Woody and Aunt Sarah Lindley Burial in Rush Creek cemetery.
