In Veedersburg the wet camp won by a small four vote margin while Covington voted dry by fifty four. Excitement arose as Capt H D Billings broke quarantine to vote. no arrest followed. Covington backs a $10,000 Y M C A fund with pledges from Worth Reed and W E Livengood and street fundraising pushes total to ten thousand dollars.

Time for property assessment begins March first
Assessors planned a March first start but began Monday with all property owned by March first subjects. They have until May fifteenth to finish and file a list of taxables with the county auditor. Dog tax is collected during this period and nonpayment incurs heavy fines.

Ward and Hall’s sale drew a large crowd with about one hundred horses and mules sold under Col A G Madden. Reed Duncan aided in voicing hardware stock sold to Mr. Duncan’s stock.
