Four hundred relatives friends and neighbors gathered at Cornelius Bonebrake's farmhouse four miles north of town for the annual Bonebrake reunion. Attendees came from Ohio Indianapolis Brookeston Danville Ill and other distant points to share a noon spread and catch up on the year. The event marked by warmth and long friendships ended with plans to meet again near Cornelius's eighty fourth birthday next year.

Big Four Train Kills Man Near Veedersburg
Perry Marsh of Waynetown was killed Saturday afternoon when a Big Four train struck him while he sat on the tracks about two miles east of Veedersburg. The 70 year old victim died instantly with both legs broken and his skull crushed. The incident prompted two theories about his presence on the track. Marsh was a longtime Waynetown resident and a bachelor. Funeral services were held at the grave side in the Masonic cemetery after the body was returned from Veedersburg.

Veedersburg Man in Overhead Bridge Crash
T. H. Booe of Veedersburg was involved in a collision with two motorcyclists at the Clover Leaf railroad bridge south of the club. Booe, returning from Steam Corner, slowed to ten mph, and one rider was bruised severely though later treated at home. The other rider escaped injury. both motorcyclists were not identified.

Christian church hosts open air services and picnic
The Christian church held a new idea for hot days with last Sunday services at Bales grove. Rev. T. J. Legg led forenoon sermon and Sunday school to a full house, followed by a large noon basket dinner. A missionary sermon filled the afternoon and union services closed the day on the church lawn. Webb Metsker visited from Hendrix county as his family sells their farm and plans move back. Rolly Gray bought the Teegarden livery barn west of the railroad with remodeling plans to come. Lightning Strike Destroys Liberty TP House Injures Son
Lightning struck Fred Teague’s James Moore farm home in Liberty township last Thursday evening. The chimney and kitchen corner were hit, walls torn, and eight windows shattered. The youngest son was unconscious but recovered. other family members were shocked yet unharmed. The house insured and repair costs run to several hundred dollars, while furniture remained largely undamaged.

Huge copper nugget found on Ollie Copeland’s farm

Frightened horse breaks leg in south town accident
A horse owned by Rector and Ratcliff escaped on Russell Street when a boy tied a rocks filled bucket to its rein. The animal toppled and fractured its right front leg near Wm Marshalls residence. Dr Keller treated it and the horse was sent to a local dead-animal graveyard. value about 150 dollars.
