Paroled Man Harry Crane Freed After Local Arrests
Harry Crane, sentenced in this county a year ago to one to eight years for petit larceny, has been released on parole and worked in Ft Wayne. He sparked a tense incident on a Wabash train when fears arose he would attack Sheriff Kerr while transporting Mort Crane to Michigan City. Crane was jailed after a struggle, later convicted for petit larceny and accused of stealing a revolver from Al Shafi to aid Mort's release. A petition for Mort Crane’s pardon failed before the state board.
