Automobile Turns Over Near Wallace

Two stock buyers were injured when an Overland roadster skidded and rolled over near Wallace. T. M. Jackson sustained serious injuries. G. L. Ward had a broken collar bone and bruises. Neighbors and Kingman responders freed them and arranged medical aid.

Kingmanite Buys Attica Book Store

Omer Drake, a Mill Creek township native and former local barber, last week purchased the Brady book store in Attica. He took possession immediately and operates at the same location, promising to maintain the shop’s high standards. Kingman friends wish him success.

Ewbank Family Heads for Lake Region Summer

Dr. E. E. Ewbank and family left Tuesday morning in a Studebaker for a summer trip to northern Indiana. They planned to reach Anderson on the first day and finish the journey the next day, aiming to spend the season on Steuben county shores near Angola.

Last Cash Prize Contest Ends in Kingman

The last cash prize contest drew the season’s largest crowd and boosted Kingman’s profile along with the 4th of July celebration. Undergoes Serious Operation at Culver Hospital

M P Rowlett, in precarious condition for weeks, underwent a delicate operation at Culver hospital in Crawfordsville at 8 o clock Saturday. Dr Barcus led the surgical team and the diagnosis of a pus forming collection near the right lung proved correct as almost a quart of pus was drained. The recovery will take several months though he returned home Wednesday evening greatly improved.

Mrs Daniel Kellar Dies After Short Illness in Town

Mrs Daniel Kellar died at home in the town’s west section Wednesday about 9. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Friday morning at the residence by Rev. B. F. Clifton. Burial was in the new Fraternal cemetery.

Samuel Sowers Called in Death

Samuel Sowers longtime Fountain county farm superintendent died Sunday night at Coryington after a diabetes illness He was 44 a Jackson township native and served six years in office He leaves a wife and three children Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Lutheran church east of Wallace with burial nearby.

Former Richland resident attempts suicide at Covington farm

William Parent, ex resident of Richland township, attempted death by taking muriatic acid at William Ward farm northeast of Covington Monday morning. He was found and treated by a physician who counteracted the poison. He said the act followed heavy drinking and misused funds belonging to the threshing firm where he is a member.

Board appoints new county farm superintendent

The board of county commissioners met in special session at the auditor’s office to appoint a successor to Samuel H. Sowers, who died Sunday night. They named Frank Hull of Covington, noting Sowers had under two years left and Hull would have assumed duties next winter by prior appointment.

Boyer Jones Nuptials in Cayuga

Luther Boyer son of William Boyer of Harveysburg and Laura Jones daughter of Alexander and Mrs Jones of Eugene were married in Cayuga last Saturday at three o'clock. The Star offers congratulations. They will reside at the Alford Bryant house in Kingman Heights.

Dentist Lindley to Take Over Bloomingdale Practice

Dr. J. H. Lindley of Bloomingdale will arrive early in the week to assume dental work at Dr. E. E. Ewbank’s office. Ewbank retired due to ill health. Lindley is a Bloomington Indiana Indiana Dental College graduate and well recommended as a gentleman and dentist.
