Tenth Rushcreek school reunion recalls old days
The tenth annual reunion of Rushcreek Friends teachers and pupils gathered with hundreds at the old church and playground. Attendees included Levi Woody John Osborn May Towell Lindley and Martha Lindley Jackson with former students from Kansas Oregon and Indiana. A program featured readings letters from distant pupils and a moving memorial for deceased alumni. The event reaffirmed the community’s enduring ties and the school’s early Quaker governance.

Auto Struck by Train Near Veedersburg
Webster Drollinger a prominent farmer living near Steam Corner had just bought a second hand auto from Dan Foxworthy of New Richmond. While crossing the grade crossing two miles south of Veedersburg the C and E I passenger train due at 8 13 p m struck the car demolishing it. The engineer applied emergency brakes but could not avoid the collision.

Eye Removed From Local Man After Indianapolis Surgery
Dr. C. C. Wert accompanied Myron Pithoud to Indianapolis on Wednesday where a surgeocal operation removed his right eye. The injury occurred about a year ago when shot from a gun entered his eye, destroying sight. Despite hopes, vision worsened and a glass eye is planned, with friends wishing him a speedy recovery.
