Central Normal College presents a Friday afternoon drawing exhibit supervised by Mrs. H. M. Towell in the College commercial room. Nearly 150 works in pencil charcoal watercolor and crayon span four months of student effort, with oil watercolor and ink pieces by Prof. and Mrs Towell. The event drew a large crowd and showcased chalk decorations by M. A. Plowmano and Towell.

Vesta Greenleaf Minick a 32 year old wife and mother of four in Veedersburg died Sunday after setting her clothes on fire in her home. Deputy Coroner Fred Parham cites despondency from ill health as the cause. Neighbors found her body with flames and smoke. funeral services were held Monday at the United Brethren church led by Rev. Tuggel.

Miss Elisie Gray, a Kingman primary teacher for two winters, had a second operation at St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis last Monday forenoon after a prior appendicitis surgery in Macomb Illinois last May. The procedure, led by Dr. A L Ratcliff, was successful and friends wish her a speedy recovery. Miss Gray and sister Josie moved from Danville Indiana to Indianapolis on medical advice.

Mad dog scare grips Kingman after rabid canine sighting
Kingman faced a mad dog scare after a rabid dog reportedly passed through Sunday at 1 am and bit several local dogs owned by Sie Boswell Sam Hybarger and F A Barker. The bitten dogs were disposed of, others muzzled, and officials warned that all entering dogs must be muzzled. A dog killed near Wallace earlier in the week is believed to be the same animal.

Indians Visit Stone Bluff on a Cherokee Caravan
A band of about thirty full blooded Cherokees from Oklahoma visited Stone Bluff on a Saturday evening while en route to Terre Haute. One squaw briefly took a citizen’s pocketbook before he noticed the loss, a narrow escape. The group claimed two hundred Indians bought a farm near Judyville and settled there.

Large Road Contract Let In Cain Township
The county commissioners awarded the Daniel Foxworthy road contract on Tuesday as one of the county’s largest and most expensive single road projects. Three bids were submitted with Fred Cunningham winning at 31 485 dollars. The route runs from Hillsboro east through the town to the old Glascock school house, with brick paving in Hillsboro and stone elsewhere. Hillsboro will cover the brick to stone cost difference. The road is a major county artery on the old state road attracting many travelers.
