In Veedersburg last Friday Frank Maris and Beeson Newman chased an eastbound Big Four train. Beeson leaped from a barber chair in mid shave as the train whistled, sprinted through the street and reached the eastbound coach. Frank followed, finishing the shave in Crawfordsville as the pair hurried to their business trip.

John Gibbons gravel road foreman faces an assault with intent to murder charge after striking Frank Allen with a shovel on the Hawkins gravel road south of Covington.
