Mildred Ratcliff age 13 of Covington Indiana died February 2 1911 in Crawfordsville Indiana after a pneumonia and chest inflammation. She is survived by her mother two brothers Arnet and Joseph W and sister Ruby. Funeral services were conducted by Rev J M McHargue at the M E church in Kingman with interment at Harveysburg cemetery.

Old Fiddlers Fiddle Grand Kingman Contest
The Old Fiddlers' Contest at the opera house drew a large crowd last Saturday. Fiddlers from across the country competed, doors yielded $92.15 with one fourth donated to the Odd Fellows for Mrs Lon Riley Kingman’s beneficiaries. Prizes were modest but valued. this inaugural Kingman event promises an even bigger next time.

Veedersburg Team Falls To Local in One sided Clash
Veedersburg high school basketball visited Alexander's opera house Thursday and lost 49 to 12 to Kingman's team in a free from rough play contest. A large crowd enjoyed the game and the locals led 28 to 5 at halftime. The Veedersburg players conceded they were outclassed and expected future athletic contests.

Forest Planting Cooperative Offer From State Board
The Indiana Board of Forestry outlines cooperative forest planting plans. It lists twenty nine experimental tracts at the Forest Experimental Station observing best tree species, spacing, cultivation, pruning, growth rates and return on investment. The board will provide free expert advice and inspection visits but will not provide financial aid. Planters must document expenses and observations and mail records to the secretary for a permanent file. Vaudeville Act At Opera House Next Thursday Night
Mike Hudler of Leavenworth visits the editor and wife. Cuppy and Reid present a vaudeville show with a moving picture display at the opera house on February 16. Cuppy, fresh from Kingman’s playhouse, wowed a large audience and promises an equally strong return. Reid, from Danville, is an experienced actor offering blackface, buck and wing, dancing and singing. Cuppy in tramp makeup and both acts priced 10 and 15 cents for the full show.
