After a year long discussion the town council votes to improve the east end of State street with washed gravel full width cement curbing and gutters. Negotiations begin immediately and work is expected to start early spring. Residents previously opposed brick paving but now support the new plan.

Mrs J M McHargue hosted 23 guests for her 54th birthday after church this Sunday. Visitors include Mrs James Woody from Danville to see a grandchild. Friday schedule lists forenoon events at 9:30 include a music high school chorus invocation by Rev. B. F. Clifton with piano by Selo Estel Duncan, a lecture on Dairy and Dairy Profits by W. W. Marple, and papers on Home Sanitation by Lois Ford and The Relation of the School to the Community by E. E. Ewbank. Afternoon session at 1:00 features Ladies Quartett The Thing, Domestic Science by Dr. E. E. Ewbank, a talk on Farm Problems, and a business meeting led by Alfred Hesler.
The Wallace Library Association operates a traveling library with about one hundred members led by A. B. Grimes as president and Dr. Parvin Caplinger as secretary and treasurer. Grimes Bros. provide their store space for headquarters. 100 volumes arrive from the state library commission along with 39 Biblical pictures and 13 French artworks. Miss Helen Webb serves as librarian. books may be borrowed for two weeks at no charge, offering access to Bible study poetry art fiction sociology and more for all ages in Wayne town.
Forenoon session opens at 10 with invocation by Rev J M McHargue and discussion led by W H Senour at Kingman Public School. Afternoon features talks on family purchasing and feeding economy, followed by piano solos. Evening programs include a male quartet and a Woman's Share in Community Betterment address by Virginia C Meridith.
The library basement hosted a banquet last Saturday for new church members. About 100 guests enjoyed songs readings and talks with refreshments. Of 32 new members added during the revival 24 were baptized and 8 by statement bringing total membership to 110 with over half being men.
A revival series started last Tuesday at the M. E. Church and will run two weeks or more. Attendance grows nightly as Rev. Ken Lyon of Peace Indiana comes to lead the preaching later this week. He is well recommended and brings a broad experience and a message for all. Services at 7 15 each night. B F Clifton Pastor.

Kingman Opera House to host silent films starting Saturday February 13 with LE R Guilford managing bookings and arranging top Chicago distributor Metro Polis Feature Film Exchange. Features include sound effects, live music, occasional musical numbers, and two weekly showings on Wednesday and Saturday with 3 reels per program.
A fuse of oil on a stove in the Cory Moffett Hardware Co harness oiling room caused a fire last Friday around 9 am. Flour smothering quickly controlled the flames, ceiling fire tamed by the chemical engine. a damaged buggy and ceiling hole noted. Engine problems prompted moving the unit to Bates' garage. Local merchants closed early for church revival.
The Tangier revival concluded Monday night led by Mr. Smith lasting just over four weeks the strongest in Tangier since the Leanna Hobson revival ten years ago. Mrs. Walker will miss the Farmers Institute but Mrs. Ogg of Greencastle will take her place.
