Obituary of Perry Williamson Tells of Peculiar Case
The late Perry Williamson of Tangier is linked to a noted medical curiosity. Born 1849 in Parke County Indiana, he endured over thirty years of rheumatic and eczema ailments, became bedridden, and required a uniquely large coffin. He married Susanna McMasters in 1871 and left a wife, six children, and multiple relatives. Funeral services were held in Tangier.

Uncle Bobby Briggs Dies at 90 in Lodi After Short Illness
Disease ends life of local veteran "Uncle Bobby" Briggs aged 90 at his Lodi home. A longtime member of Co. H 63 Ind Vol and drummer boy in the regiment, he was a familiar Decoration Day marshal. Survived by wife, two sons, two daughters. funeral at Lodi church Friday at 10 a.m. with burial in nearby cemetery.

Death of John Abenathy Noted Cates Elder
Uncle John Abenathy, longtime Fulton township resident and prominent figure in Cates, died at his home last Sunday after a long illness. He was in his 80s and spent most of his life in the area. Funeral services were held Tuesday at his home with burial in the cemetery near Snyddy’s mill.

Fatal Train Crash Kills Driver In Goodland Crossing
A northbound C and E passenger train struck a delivery truck at a crossing south of Goodland last Friday morning. Driver Harlow Norton 18 died instantly and three girls Blanch Martin 10 Lulu McKinley 12 Violet Benjamin 9 were injured. The truck belonged to Z F Little Co of Goodland.

Schools in Kingman and Millcreek township begin Monday September 8 with well organized faculties and a predicted good year. Final teacher exams are pending, causing a delay in full staff listings. Kingman faculty will see few changes while the Vocational law prompts immediate adjustments in retention work. Enrollment is expected to rise, notably in the high school.

Struck by Train at Yeddo Injures Local Citizen
Sam Royce, an elderly Yeddo resident, was struck by freight No. 50 as he crossed the tracks Friday morning. Deafness prevented him hearing the approaching train, but he was dragged by the engine and sustained rib fractures. He was returned home and is recovering well.
