Marriage of Roscoe C D Woody and Kate Duckworth

Saturday evening the marriage of Roscoe C D Woody and Kate Duckworth was performed at the groom’s Crawfordsville home with G Stine of the United Brethren Church officiating. Woody, of Kingman, recently moved to Crawfordsville to work for the Big Four Railway, and Miss Duckworth is the daughter of Eva Callahan. Best man Otis Warren and maid of honor Mabel Duckworth attended as witnesses to a simple ceremony in front of invited guests.

Fire destroys Dan Strong’s barn at Tangier

A damaging blaze struck Tangier Monday night bursting into flames and razing Dan Strong’s barn. The origin is unknown but suspected to be a cigar stub discarded on sawdust on a nearby croquet ground. No lives or property beyond the barn were saved.

Obituary of Eliza Ann Hershberger Pioneer Indiana Woman

Eliza Ann Hershberger born January 2 1838 near Steam Corner Indiana was married to Josiah Keeling and bore a daughter Olive Josiah Keeling who died in 1860. She later married Stephen Bonebrake in 1865 and had a daughter Clara who died young. She leaves thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren two brothers and two sisters. A longtime member of the United Brethren and Centennial churches she was a devout Bible reader who seldom missed a night. Her second husband died in 1892 and she died April 13 1912 aged seventy months and (unreadable).

Tangier Ladies Aid to stage play with music event

The Ladies Aid Society plans a Saturday night April 20 performance in the high school auditorium featuring a humorous play, piano music, and other features. Admission is 10 and 15 cents. The W R C met Saturday afternoon and initiated three members. Several local residents and visitors are noted, with social visits and teaching duties mentioned. Our Sunday school is reported to be thriving.

Scout Patrol Lecture Planned by Crawfordsville Leader

Leyle Alison of Crawfordsville will conduct a Boy Scout event in Kingman on Saturday April 20 1912.
