Farewell Party for Huntington Family Moves to Valparaiso
Neighbors from Hightower and Pawnee gathered at the Huntington homestead last Saturday to bid farewell as J. C. Huntington family plans a return to Valparaiso Indiana. Reverend Winkler praised the family while gossip games and dancing filled the evening. Mrs Huntington and children Inez Earle and Coburn left Keota Thursday for Tipton and Indianapolis before Valparaiso. Mr Huntington will begin moving household goods by car later this week.

Avalo schoolhouse to be moved north in district meeting
At a special meeting of the electors of School District No 93 the Avalo schoolhouse will be moved two miles north. Miss Weltha Cox is appointed teacher at Hightower and Perry for four months each. Miss Rose Durbin will teach Nelson and Mount View schools. Social notes mention visits and travel among local residents and a Sunday preaching at the Nelson schoolhouse.
Valley residents visit multiple ranches this week
Mrs. McClement and daughter Barbara plus Mr. Sabroskie and Charles Folck spent Friday at Christenson's ranch. John Deal and family visited John Roby ranch on Wednesday. Henry Folck returned to Cheyenne Friday after visiting here. Mrs. Cyrus Roby left for Cheyenne Monday to stay awhile. Mrs. W. J. McClement returned from a Nebraska trip.

An author argues that dry orchard cultivation is feasible by preparing two years moisture in advance, plowing deep to shape land for snow catchment, and digging fall holes to collect moisture.
