Buckingham Voting Precinct Created Then Recalled

The Greeley Tribune reports Buckingham sought its own voting precinct to avoid long travel. The county board initially granted the request but county attorney Todd opposed the action leading to reconsideration and revocation. Cost factors allegedly drove the reversal, and Buckingham will be added to Keota again.

Keota Notes Busy Week Highlights Local Visits

Sheriff S J McAfee of Greeley visited Keota with his daughter Mona McAfee and friends Mona Pearson and Alice O’Neill all attending Colorado State Teachers College summer session. Social events included a Kedta homestead party hosted by Mr and Mrs Hugh Irwin. Also noted are homestead residents finishing residence time, well drilling for irrigation plans, church services, and a lightning strike damaging a desert claim barn.

Dalby Family Autotour Visits J L Cole in Keota

The Dalby family of Glenwood Iowa arrived in Keota for a visit with Mr and Mrs Cole. They recently sold a lumber business and began an automobile trip to California with camping gear. On night five their car burned and they secured a replacement. Heavy snow in Colorado led them to detour and linger in Eastern Colorado before continuing southward.
