Petition blanks for class officers and representatives are available today per Bob Duncan election chair. Hours 11 to 12 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. in the Student Council office. Return by noon Nov 6. Freshmen excluded from offices. Eligible students must have a 2.0 cumulative average and a 2.0 last quarter. Freshman positions elected after mid term grades.

Presidents Probing Campus Dances Shake Student Spirit
At the Council of Presidents meeting the campus bond darkened by stag dances and cheer issues. Curtis Sarff chaired with 15 tentative discussion topics while Raymond Moran mapped a plan for cheering standards and better traditions. The group urged more dink caps and observed freshman and sophomore traditions, with next session set for November 4 at 4 p.m. in 115K.

Harriet Ducats Now On Sale At University Theatre
Tickets for the university production Harriet are on sale in the Kent hall corridor. Theatre manager Nick Bozeka announced today that students with a valid student activity card or theatre membership card may obtain tickets. Non-student admission is 60 cents. Harriet runs November 5 and 6.

Miss Hsiao-Fang Li, a native of Peking, China, joins the geography staff at the university while pursuing a master’s degree. Her career spans National Tsing Hua University, its move to Kunming, travel by boat through Hongkong to Canton and Annan, and work with the National Geological Survey. She later joined the National Resources commission and collaborated with Dr. T. L. Savege on the Yellow River report and a water-reservoir project.

Board selects two prets for Kent State faculty
The Kent State university board of trustees approved two temporary appointments to the faculty on Monday. William R. Paine will serve as temporary instructor of physics and Mrs. Helene Mougin as temporary instructor of French. Mougin, from France, studied at Grenoble and taught in Paris. Paine is a Montana School of Mines graduate who taught at the Armed Forces Institute during Navy service. Roger H. Watkins of Cuyahoga Falls was named graduate assistant in chemistry. Richard Dussel of Kent was reappointed graduate assistant in the history department.
