University election set for Thursday voting hours

The student council approved voting from shortly before 8 a m until 4 p m at the Wills gym main entrance with a 4 o’clock cutoff. Voters must present student activity tickets or receipts. A possible primary election study was approved with a three member council panel and two students. Helen Rothermund to appoint junior class vacancy.

Thunder Rock Tickets Go On Sale At University

The first University theater production of the year, Thunder Rock, goes on sale tomorrow at the Athletic booth near Wills gym and again Thursday, with box office sales in the atrium Thursday and Friday. All seats are reserved and priced for outsiders at 35 cents. Kitty Liptak, theater manager, said tickets run 3 am to 4 pm tomorrow and Thursday, and 7:15 pm to 8:10 pm Thursday and Friday. Each activity and theater membership card holder receives one ticket per card.

Freshmen Plan Pep Rally Before Kent State BG Game

Freshmen will stage a pep rally on Rockwell field Friday night for the Kent State Bowling Green football game Saturday. Cheerleader captain Ralph Braden announced the plan and urged freshmen to meet at Wills gym at 3 p m daily to collect wood for a bonfire. Upperclassmen are invited.

KSU To Stage Pageant At Carroll During Football Game

Kent State University will present a 20 minute pageant during the KSU John Carroll game on November 8. Under Prof Roy Metcalfs direction five four minute scenes will feature the marching band Kent post American Legion and students. Howard Hansen will narrate the ceremonies over the public address system. The squad will observe Dads Day at the encounter.

Tri-Sigs Bring Back Silver Dish From Kansas City

Betty Bowles and June Arnold delivered a sterling silver Sigma Sigma Sigma crest dish won at a regional meeting in Kansas City. The award recognized the chapter with the most members present from the farthest distance, over 1,500 miles, awarded to the Kent chapter. Three Kent alumni also joined the trip.

Senate Set To Convene In McGilvrey Hall Tonight

The student senate will meet in room 317 McGilvrey Hall at 7 30 p m with party caucuses at 7 15 led by president Ed Zink announced yesterday.

Kent State to Sell Non Student Entertainment Tickets

The University entertainment committee at Kent State announces season tickets for 10 features, headed by Jessica Dragonette and Percy Grainger. Non students may buy for 3.30 total, including 30 cents tax. individual tickets are 55 cents. First program is University theater play Thunder Rock on Oct 30–31 at University Auditorium.

Homecoming Plans Highlight Saturday Festivities

Emmet C. Stopher announced a full Homecoming schedule beginning with breakfasts and luncheons by Greek groups and dormitory decorations judged by noon Saturday. Winners receive trophies at the Homecoming dance after the 2:30 p. m football game with Bowling Green and the queen is presented at halftime. An informal dance follows in Wills gym with Bob Pettay's band.

Move Notices Due From Students to House Owner

Students wishing to move from rooms must notify the house owner by November 2. Miss Frances Maisch director of residences said contracts run 18 weeks unless proper notice of change is given.

Fifty-Six Students Join Ohio Education Group

Fifty six juniors and seniors yesterday joined the Ohio Education Association as student members. Dr John L Blair dean of the college of education said membership fee is 50 cents and includes a subscription to the association s monthly magazine Ohio Schools. Other students may apply for membership this week.

Kent State University offers four new scholarships based on athletic ability and scholastic achievement. Ray Moran proposed the program and Kappa Mu Kappa leads the fundraising drive. Awards total sixty dollars a year for two years to qualifying recent high school graduates enrolling as freshmen.
