John Loves Mary Tonight at University Theater

The comedy John Loves Mary by Norman Krasna will be shown tonight at 8 15 in the auditorium as part of Homecoming events. Marilyn Ohlgren and Bob Wallace lead the cast, with nine vaudeville acts and refreshments available.

Brig. Gen. Wayne C. Smith and President George Bowman will speak at an Armistice Day program on the lower campus near the library. Smith is an airborne general and assistant division commander of the 11th Airborne. Last year the event drew about 3,000 people.

Military Group Plans Retreat on Campus

Scabbard and Blades plans a formal retreat on campus today at 5 30 p m in front of the atrium. ROTC actives and pledges will participate to mark Scabbard and Blade day and start the fall pledge period with flag lowering and cadet arms. A movie on atomic research may follow as part of the observance. the public is invited.

Who's Who Applications Sought From College Students

Students may apply to Who's Who by 4 p.m. Monday October 1. Submit to Irv Wheatley with qualifications including extracurriculars, grade point average, clubs and sororities, and service activities.

Kent Allocations Committee Sets Largest Quarter Allotment

At the first Allocations committee meeting, Comptroller Beck announced a $34 500 allotment for the present quarter the largest in university history. Herb Kaley was elected chairman Holly Gier secretary. The group will prepare quarterly budgets for submission next Wednesday at 4 with specified percentage allocations to Art Assembly Choir and Orchestra Band Chestnut Burr Entertainment Forensics Forum Intramural sports Radio Social Kent State Student Council University Theater Men's Union Women's League Athletics and Flying.

Phyllis Young To Rule Homecoming Celebration

Phyllis Young a Canton senior in education was named Homecoming queen by guest judges for Kent State University of Connecticut game festivities. Attendants included Gerry Tarmichael of Delta Gamma and Alice Romanchuk of Beta Gamma. The event drew over 80 contestants in Moulton Hall Music room.

Health Service Director Honored At Convention

Dr. DeWeese received the William A. Howe Award for pioneering health education work in Ohio and nationally. The honor was presented by Dr. Cyrus H. Maxwell at a joint dinner with the American Public Health Association in the Hotel Statler.
