Pan-Campus Party Sweeps Campus Elections

The Pan-Campus party won 10 of 15 campus offices in a landslide, taking senior class president Don Moore with 34 votes to 19 for Betty Offhaus and 15 for Bill Thrasher. Harriet Shubert led a Pan-Campus sweep in senior vice president with 30 votes.

Five Barriers to International Peace Cited by Dr Dunham

Dr Chadburn Dunham head of the German department at Ohio Wesleyan University outlined five barriers to peace at the senior recognition assembly. He identified language education suspicion about Russians and opposition to the Morgenthau plan as key obstacles. He urged seniors to continue to enlarge their horizons.

Frolics Tryouts Begin Monday Frosh Frolics

Frosh Frolics tryouts start Monday October 29 and run Tuesday October 30. George Keith as master of ceremonies announces commuter tryouts Monday 3 to 5 pm and campus student sessions Tuesday 7 to 9 pm. Miss Laura Hill will advise while finalists must attend at least four evening rehearsals after passing elimination.

Psychology Department Reports 283 Students Enrolled

Dr. D. W. Pearce announces a substantial rise in enrollment in psychology for the current quarter with a total of 283 students registered. The department head cites strong interest and growth in the program.

Kent State OWA Presents 100 Dollars to Chest Drive

The Office of War Activities at Kent State University donated 100 dollars to the Kent Community Chest. The gift came from the 1944 45 OWA surplus after student council guidance. OWA, formed in 1942, channels campus fundraising through university organizations.

Dr Amner Attends Language Meeting in Cleveland

Dr F Dewey Amner head of foreign languages and Miss Alyce Hawk assistant professor of Spanish will attend a Northern Ohio chapter meeting of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese in Cleveland tomorrow.
