Mrs Davey Crowned Queen For KSU Homecoming

Dorothy Davey wife of Student Council President Davey was chosen Homecoming queen by Akron judges and will be crowned by Tom Davey. Attendants Irene Kelbaugh and Sarah Yingst will assist. The Queen’s escort will be Ted Boyer at Backstage club. A 11‑piece Akron orchestra will play at the Homecoming dance with prizes awarded for best decorated houses.

Homecoming Day Echoes Past At University

Tomorrow’s Homecoming mirrors early celebrations with a queen, big football game, and dances. Seventeen years ago Mary Donze of Alpha Sigma Alpha reigned as queen while 800 alumni were entertained and Sigma Tau Gamma won the decoration contest. The current forecast promises a pretty queen, perfect weather, and a Flashes victory.

Twenty five campus organization presidents met to identify thirteen causes of low school spirit. They urged representatives to take the list back to groups for solutions, with a follow up meeting planned to generate ideas to boost campus morale.

Alumni Stan Mouse and Bill Guisewite return for an 8 15 p m show between acts of Dear Ruth at the university theater. The popular duo, former 1943 grads, will present an original skit they staged in 1940 and continue their theater and radio work in Dayton. Tickets 60 cents, with some set aside for Homecoming crowds.
