Student council sets a judging and voting process for Homecoming Queen with three judges selecting three finalists from juniors or seniors with at least a 2.0 average. If tied, body elects. Elections set for Nov 3, with two council vacancies (one junior, one sophomore).
Five Protestant ministers and a Catholic priest will serve as chaplains at the university. The Religious Council office is in room 3D South Hall. Office hours span Monday to Friday with rotating ministers and Saturday by appointment.
BC Posts Revamped Al Lumsden was installed as booster club president last night. He succeeds Harold L. Stoneman who resigns to focus on the musical No Time For Classes. New officers include Sam Dudra vice president Joan Clark corresponding secretary and Marian Mitchel secretary. The club aims to balance representation between Greeks and Independents and invites all organizations to send representatives to the Monday meeting at 4 pm in room 210 K.
ISA hosts a campus hayride at 8 pm starting behind the Hub with more than 300 members traveling to Schmiedel's farm for camp fires and wagon rounds of entertainment. ISA president flags a Monday caucus at 6 45 in 317 McG to set a student council slate and queen elections. Tickets at Merrill hall Booster booth 90 cents per couple.
Tickets for the Golden Flash versus Western Reserve on October 23 are available at the Athletic ticket office window and Hoard's Drugstore.
About 50 historians from Ohio and nearby states gather tomorrow at 2:30 pm in the university auditorium to discuss Liberalism as a world force since the revolutions of 1848. Dr A Sellen Roberts says three speeches will be given by history professors and the session is open to interested attendees.
The Modern Language section of the Ohio College Association will hold its fall meeting at the university with a panel on what constitutes a good textbook. Dr. Weldon M. Williams will discuss great books in translation and Dr. James B. Tharp will address foreign study for students. Dr. F. Dewey Amner will report on Inter-American workshop activities. The event runs 10 to 12 and 2 to 3 45 with entertainment by the student workshop.
Central Michigan college will stage four performances of The Royal Family in the auditorium starting Monday at 2 and 7 pm. The Kent university players will visit November 9 and 10 and November 11 at Bowling Green to present The Return of Peter Grimm. Tickets distributed at the UT table to students with activity cards today and Monday.
