Top Brass Names Three Distinguished Military Students
Three second year Cadet Corps students in the advanced class were named distinguished military students by the military department. Cadet Major Richard E. Mack Cadet Major Willard B. Rogers and Cadet Captain Linwood Hendrickson Jr. were presented to academic deans for President Bowman's approval. They will graduate with the June class of 1949 and may receive regular army commissions upon graduation. Fifteen other cadets were eligible for honors but will not graduate with June class.

Mrs Florence H Wenger appointed supervising teacher in the training school and Meade Letts named temporary instructor of sociology.

Phi Beta Phi Ends Decade
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, Phi Beta Phi fraternity will hold an open house on Sunday October 17 from 2 to 5 p m at the fraternity house on East Main street. Five Akron students founded the Kent campus group in September 1938. the fraternity was inactive during the war but reorganized in 1945 and now counts about 60 active members and more than 100 alumni in its establishment chapter.

Training School Adds Donn Byrne to Play Cast
Casting of The Return of Peter Grimm is completed with Donn Byrne joining the cast. The 10 year old is the son of Basil Byrne and will perform at the training school in November. The troupe rehearses now and will perform November 4 5 and 6 with subsequent stops at Bowling Green University and Central Michigan.
