Homecoming Queen candidates pictured are Mrs. Jayne Karnosh Ayres and Dorothy Roessel. Ayres is an Alpha Omega, Roessel a Sigma Sigma Sigma member. Elections will be held Oct. 22.
Posters and exhibits detailing the pre occupational therapy course are being prepared by Canton art classes at the Canton Art Institute. Handicrafts like weaving jewelry block printing wood carving metal work and pottery make up a large portion of the patient training. Miss Nina Humphrey head of the art department notes Ohio State University has started a similar course.
Harry Miller, a former university student, was commissioned as a second lieutenant after entering the service a year ago. He is now stationed at Camp Blanding in Florida.
The steel cannon, a long cherished KSU symbol over Rockwell library, was authorized by Portage Post American Legion to be put on Kent’s scrap pile. University had not ordered removal as of last night.
Miss Nina Humphrey announces the eighteenth annual circuit exhibition by the Ohio Water Color Society at the University today through Friday. The show runs in the Kent Hall art gallery and is open to students, with Professor Novack to give a gallery talk. part of the student activity fund financed the exhibit.
The Don Cossack chorus led by Serge Jaroff will perform at the University auditorium on Wednesday evening October 28. Hope Byrne of Gamma Sigma Phi announces a new campus Coalition party formed by Greek groups and Independents. Co chairs Miss Byrne and Marguerite Cook plan tonight’s organizing meeting and a slate for next Thursday’s fall elections.
Blue Key and Cardinal Key led by the dean of men and dean of women organized an assembly to honor Kent State University service men. The University War Activities council met and discussed a women auto mechanics course WAAC WAVES program and an investigation led by Dr Frances Harshbarger into female interest and qualifications. The November assembly will unveil a service men honor roll funded by Dean Manchester's Penny drive.
The Chestnut Burr announces a 12 person staff for the year with editor Arthur Durivage and business manager Joe Marg. Co advertising managers are George Corden and Bob Rector, with Don Kemp as student organization manager and Eileen Warren as secretary.

Co producers Stan Mouse and Bill Guisewite say lack of sufficient talent makes another NTFC musical comedy impossible this year. The show was halted last year due to cast members' uncertain school status but was among the most successful in 1939 and 1940.
Ardath Wise, a University senior, aims to start a weekly club to learn Japanese through a card game created by Burton Crane.
